We provide referrals and consultations with a board-certified veterinary surgeon when we encounter those surgeries that may require more advanced training to perform.
We understand that anesthesia and surgery can be scary. As always, your pet's safety and comfort remains our top priority, which is why we create a comprehensive anesthetic plan for each patient. Pets undergoing surgery receive:
- Pre-anesthetic blood work to ensure organs are healthy
- IV catheter placement for fluids and drug administration
- Tailored anesthesia drug combinations based on health status
- Experienced monitoring support from veterinarians and trained technicians
- Pain medications
Following surgery, your pet will be kept comfortable and monitored while the effects of anesthesia wear off. Wanting to rest for the remainder of the day is normal, but if you’re concerned about your pet’s post-op behavior, please don’t hesitate to call us at (512) 596-3749.
