Jon Jenkins, DVM

Dr Jenkins was born near Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Massachusetts.  He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University.

After graduation, he returned to his hometown and joined a mixed-animal practice caring for dogs, cats, cattle, horses, and other farm animals.  He moved to the Austin area in 2014 for a change of weather, and worked at a clinic in Cedar Park before joining ZippiVet in 2023.

He is excited to grow professionally in a leadership role at ZippiVet as Chief of Staff, and continue to provide excellent care to our patients and clients.  In practice, he enjoys performing surgery and dental procedures.  He is Fear Free certified, and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas VMA, and Capital Area VMA.

Dr Jenkins has one cat, Jack, who has decided he can be the only pet for now!  Outside of work, Dr Jenkins enjoys cooking and trying new foods from around the world, watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, going to Round Rock Express baseball games, and planning the next vacation destination.
